I thought that the fire alarm would call the fire department automatically...but I was wrong. To buy time Rodney tried to put out the flames while Gloria called emergency services. I was trying to get her out of the way but EAxis made it so that sims can't interact with anything while there's a fire going on. >_> She didn't even pick up El and carry her outside. *sigh*
